This patient presented with heavily decayed and compromised dentition. He was very concerned with his appearance and complaining of pain in various areas of the mouth. (15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 34, 35, 36, 44, 45, 46)
Impressions for study models were taken along with face bow registration. Once mounted on an articulator, a diagnostic wax up was created by Biterite technicians for the approval of the patient and
dentist.
As the patient’s dentition was heavily worn and his bite was over closed, we fabricated temporary acrylic crowns based on the wax up and these were fitted once the teeth had been prepared.
The patient wore the temporary crowns for 6 weeks. These were adjusted until a correct occlusal relationship was re-established and the patient was comfortable.
We then fabricated special trays, taking final impressions as well as impressions of the temporary crowns for reference, as well as a final bite registration
Both the working model and the model of the temps were scanned, and copings then designed to full contour. These were cut back on screen to ensure the correct amount of support for the porcelain was present.
Once the copings had been designed, they were milled in wax and pressed in e.max LT ingot. Porcelain was then layered to the exact dimension of the temps. The work won the enthusiastic approval of both patient and dentist.
